I have been working with Miles for a short time. Previously, I worked with him about one year ago only a few times. His diagnosis is Cerebral Palsy, from his cord wrapped around his neck during delivery. He went a very long time without oxygen before finally being deliverd via C-section. His mom is incredible beyond belief and so is her hub. Miles has two incredible parents who love him the size of the whole world.

Miles has not slept thru the nite in the past several months, meaning, neither has Mom. She has slept on the floor in his room, on the floor in the hallway outside his room, and anywhere else she could so she can be close enough to him due to concerns from his seizures.

Mom is also a dance teacher and has danced all of her life.

I love dance, so, you’ll hear me use some dance metaphors, how perfect is that??

Lately, Miles has become quite aware of not wanting someone else work with him, so, pleeeease turn down the volume in the very beginning til he quiets down. You’ll see how we creatively turn this lesson into a lesson for both Miles and Mom. Incredible! Who better, than Mom, I alwasy say.

So, click, sit back, waaaay back in the just the beginning and watch, learn, and enjoy.

It all started when I hired Louie to create a rather large patio shade fabric draw for us in our outdoor dining area. I was tired of umbrellas everywhere. We talked, we designed, we re-designed and then talked more about food and wine. You see, Louie and his wife, Joyce are fine connoisseurs of wine, for they blend their own and sell to friends and family.

Louie is an incredible home cook, and as you can see, even somewhat sweetly shy about his food accomplishments.

We made an evening a few days before our big party to practice on our spouses. Seriously lucky! And we followed each other around the kitchen as we created our feast.

It was by far not all the food, and maybe we’ll show the appetisers another day. But, I think you will enjoy the play and delicious recipes we are sharing with you. Yes, there was more, but those were made on the party nite. I didn’t want to overdo the video.

I hope you enjoy, and more importantly, I hope you get some delicious ideas. Now, you go out and share these with your friends and loved ones! Eat, drink, and be merry! In a delicious and healthy way, that is, of course, you’ll see!

Annabelle's mum

Some blogs are long and some are short. Here, I am posting one of Annabelle’s lessons from earlier this week. As they are also on youtube, they have to be cut into 10 min segments. So, please, if you have the patience, watch them from 1.1-1.4 Then, you will see why Mom has what she has to say at the end, and it will make sense. You will also see, if you’ve been watching any of her video lessons, how far Annabelle has come in this time. I and sooooooo happy.

So sad, also that our time is coming soon to and end with her living here in the US, as they will be moving back home to England. But, have no fears, Mom now has all her videos up on youtube to watch and remember how to continue to work with her.

Moshe Feldenkrais would have been so happy, I can just see him smiling now, as Elizabeth Lotus says, that Moshe’s dreams are coming true that we can work and teach people even when we are not directly with them. Look, we can use the internet to communicate and teach some incredibly wonderful things! This has long been my dream to carry Moshe Feldenkrais’ work out this way.

I’m still working on figuring this out and how to do it. So, as we say in hebrew, “savlanut,” means “patience.” A lesson for us all. I hope the video links come up for you.

Teaching Mom – Teaching Annabelle

I am so happy to finally have this forum in which to share with you the important pieces of info that I learn from some of the most wonderful people in my life. People like Dr Moshe Feldenkrais on learning to learn and using yourself in more functional ways. Ruthy Alon in her Bones For Life program on building stonger and supple bones. Yes, you can do both, it’s quite incredible. Linda Tellington-Jones, TTOUCH with animals, and now with people. I have been incorporating her work for over 25 yrs in my Feldenkrais Practice, espcially with brian injury. And lots of incredible and wonderful info in health and nutrition that comes from a large group of specialists from around the country, many of whom are the leading teachers in nutrition.  I will also share  some fabulous recipes, I just loooove goooood food!

Hopefully, I will have time to talk lots about you and your nervous system, and what helps make you tick. You know, a wonderful old man once told me, “If you kow what you’re doing, you can do what you want.”  Imagine that!

I might even share with you some of what I, personally am going thru right now in pet health. Many of you might know, I have been teaching pet health and nutrition for many years. One of my degrees in science was Zoology and pre veterinary medicine, my other was in Biology and pre-medicine in the human sciences. So, I promise you, I don’t just come off the cuff with statements of health and wellness.

Now, one of my own dogs, a male standard poodle, ony seven yrs old, has cancer. And unfortunately, one that is not “curable.” So, we’re on the road of both allopathic and holistic medicine, and of course quite wonderful food from the kitchen.

One thing I have leaned is that life is not perfect for any of us, for sure. No matter how “perfectly” we live it. I know about cars that come out of nowhere and end your day, I know about pianos falling out of the sky, I know about perfectly healthy people who get perfectly ugly diseases. But, mostly I know that I want to still live everyday, sharing at least some piece of info that can still help yet, one more person.

So, please come and join me. I will promise you that I will always try to bring you real information, and maybe some of my own thoughts and ideas on them. I will share with you my own stories, because I am hoping you will be able to take info from them and make something from them into your own life.
